Police received a 911 call shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday reporting a man running with a gun in his hand on Leonard Place in Trumbull. An officer nearby located and stopped 25-year-old Rashan Jimenez of Bridgeport, who was in his car on Leonard Place and had a loaded handgun on his passenger seat, according to police.

Jimenez admitted to holding the gun while he was chasing down another man who he said had stolen his wallet, according to police. Jimenez told police that he had met up on the street with the other man, an acquaintance later identified as 19-year-old Jordan Elien of Trumbull, according to police. He said that the two had gotten into a dispute and that Elien had grabbed his wallet and run, police said.

Police determined that the gun was registered to Jimenez and that he had a valid pistol permit. Police requested a canine from the Fairfield Police Department to search for Elian, and later found him sitting in a vehicle in front of his home on Deerfield Drive, police said.

Police arrested Elien and charged him with the theft of Jimenez's wallet, however during a search they were unable to locate the wallet, police said.

Elien was charged with second-degree larceny and held on a $25,000 bond. Jimenez was charged with breach of peace and held on a $500 bond. Both will appear in court on July 11.

Police said they are still investigating the nature of the relationship between the two, including what led up to the dispute.
