Bridgeport Man Charged With Stealing $40,000 In Tools From Monroe Employer

MONROE, Conn. -- An employee at a Monroe plumbing business put a lot of effort into his side hustle of stealing more than $40,000 in tools from his job, said Monroe Police who arrested a Bridgeport man on Friday.

Michael Conway, 37, was charged with first-degree larceny and was held on a $20,000 bond for a court appearance Monday in Bridgeport.

Police said the business owner went to police in December about tools being stolen from him during a period of several months, Lieutenant Stephen Corrone said. During the investigation police were able to focus on Conway and determined that he had incrementally stolen more than $40,000 in tools, police said.
