AAA Honors Redding Police For Traffic Safety Achievements

REDDING, Conn. --The Redding Police Department's active child passenger safety program and extensive use of social media to deter distracted driving got the attention of AAA Northeast.

The automobile federation honored the department with a Silver Award for its traffic safety programs.

In addition, AAA recognized Redding police officers, Michael Livingston and Jenna Matthews and department-nominated Traffic Safety Heroes for their work in motor vehicle enforcement and driving under the influence arrests and traffic stops. 

The officers are credited with leading the department in such stops in 2015. Their combined efforts helped reduce traffic crashes through enforcement and education.
