Wilton Holding Candlelight Vigil To Stand Strong After Charlottesville

WILTON, Conn. — Wilton will hold an interfaith candlelight vigil Wednesday evening In response to recent events in Charlottesville, Va.

The vigil will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 229 Danbury Road, at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The nation was rocked by the recent violence in Charlottesville, where neo-Nazis and white nationalists clashed with counter-protesters.  

“Standing Together, Standing Strong: An Interfaith Gathering,” will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 229 Danbury Road. It is set for 7 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23.

Organizers from the Wilton Clergy Association include Rabbi Rachel Bearman of Temple B’nai Chaim, the Rev. Reggie Norman of Our Lady of Fatima, the Rev. Shannon White of the Wilton Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. Alon White of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. 

The clergy will share prayers, and First Selectman Lynne Vanderslice will read the town’s Civility Proclamation.
