TRUMBULL, Conn. -- The family of murdered 20-year-old Alyssiah Marie Wiley will have to sit through another trial as a new jury is picked to re-hear the case against Jermaine Richards, who is accused of killing and dismembering Wiley and dumping her body in Trumbull, according to the Connecticut Post.

A jury deadlocked last March in the killing of Wiley, a sophomore at Eastern Connecticut State University, who was last seen on video from a surveillance camera in April 2013, getting into Richards’ car, the Connecticut Post reported. After a statewide search, her body was found 27 days later in a wooded area on Quarry Road in Trumbull, cut up into pieces less than two miles from Richards home, said the Connecticut Post.

During the first trial, prosecutors said that Richards, 33, killed her after Wiley broke up with him, and painted a picture of a vain and obsessive killer, the Connecticut Post reported. Richards claims he dropped Wiley off near her campus apartment, added the Connecticut Post.
