William Garcia-Perez, 35, was seen driving south on Danbury Road with only one working headlight and a malfunctioning brake light when he was stopped around 9:30 p.m. Friday, said Lt. Robert Kluk.

When officers walked up to the vehicle they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car, prompting a search where police found cocaine inside the Pringles can in the back of the car, Kluk said.

They did not find any marijuana.

Garcia-Perez was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving without working headlights. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 16.
