Redding Police To Step Up Speed Patrols On Turney Road Near Joel Barlow

REDDING, Conn. — After finding that cars on Turney Road are speeding — including two school-age drivers ticketed for going nearly 60 mph — the Redding Police Department will step up patrols in the area near Joel Barlow High School, according to the Redding Pilot.

Drivers heading to and from Joel Barlow High School should watch their speed as Redding police increase enforcement in the area.

The increased speed enforcement will begin next week — just before classes begin at JBHS and right after dismissal, the Pilot said.

Traffic sensors monitoring the speed and volume of traffic on Turney Road three weeks ago determined that many cars speed in the area — and speed by a large margin, Police Chief Doug Fuchs told the Redding Pilot.
