Hundreds Without Power In Bethel, Newtown, Weston, Wilton

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Thousands of people were without power Friday, a day after powerful thunderstorms rocked much of Fairfield County, according to Eversource.

Here are the power outages reported as of 8:20 a.m.:

  • Bethel: 42 customers
  • Danbury: 1 customer
  • Easton: 15 customers
  • Greenwich: 1 customer
  • Newtown: 1,541 customers, or 14 percent of the town 
  • Ridgefield: 1 customer 
  • Stamford: 1 customer
  • Weston: 980 customers, or 26 percent of the town
  • Wilton: 134 customers

Downed trees, branches and debris were reported in many of the towns after the storms moved through.

It was not clear when all power would be restored to the towns.
