John Durham, the United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut announced that Jovanni Reyes of Bridgeport was sentenced in New Haven District Court to two years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute heroin in October last year.

According to court documents, Bridgeport police made three controlled purchases of heroin from Reyes in late 2016. On Dec. 8, 2016, investigators conducted a court-authorized search of his Voight Avenue residence, where more than 120 folds of heroin and a loaded 9mm handgun - which was stolen - were seized.

Further analysis of the drugs determined that some of the folds also contained fentanyl, Durham stated.

Reyes has been detained since his federal arrest on Jan. 25 last year. He pleaded guilty on Oct. 18 last year. He’s been remanded to the Connecticut Department of Corrections.
