About 215 natural gas customers in Monroe have experienced an interruption in their gas service, police said. The primary outage locations are in the area of Route 110 and Route 111.

Service has been restored for 113 customers, and Eversource was continuing to work Tuesday to restore service to the remaining 102 customers without gas, police said. They expect to have everyone restored by the end of Tuesday.

Eversource technicians will also assist in relighting customers' appliances and conducting safety checks.

Eversource employees will need to enter each customer's house in order to complete their checks, police said. They ask that a homeowner or someone over the age of 18 be present when they arrive.

All Eversource employees have company-issued identification.

The problems with natural gas have persisted since Monday and into the overnight hours with repairs underway.
