The performance will be at the Dec. 8 meeting of the group at the Saugatuck Congregational Church at 245 Post Road E., Westport.

The Orphenians will offer Y’s Men a preview of their portion of Staples’ 76th Annual Candlelight Concert.  The Orphenians is an elite, mixed a cappella chorus of 33 voices that has been a part of Staples’ rich music scene since 1958. Many Orphenians go on to sing in college groups, and some pursue professional careers.

Rosenberg is a native of Michigan, a graduate of Western Michigan University, and a leader in vocal music education.  He joined the Staples faculty in 2012 after serving as director of Vocal Music at Caledonia High School in Caledonia, Mich.

He expanded an already strong choral program at Staples by adding fall and spring concerts to the school’s program, and the Orphenians will, again, carol on Main Street during the holiday season.

Y's Men of Westport/Weston is an organization of retired and semi-retired men with a continuing interest in activity, fellowship, learning and community service. Those interested in hearing Rosenberg and the Orphenians, and learning about Y’s Men should contact John Brandt at jkbrandt@aol.com or visit the group’s website.
