Reinoso is director of the Mid-Fairfield Substance Abuse Coalition at the Human Services Council.

The selection was made  by the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services in collaboration with Wheeler Clinic’s Connecticut Clearinghouse/Connecticut Center for Prevention, Wellness and Recovery, and the Connecticut Special Education Resource Center.

"One of the Mid-Fairfield Substance Abuse Coalition’s focuses is mental health promotion through a comprehensive approach, including education, awareness, and community action," Reinoso said. "As we know in many cases, substance abuse and mental health go hand in hand.

“I plan to offer trainings throughout our catchment area of Norwalk, Wilton, Westport, Weston and New Canaan as well as collaborate with others to service beyond our area," he added. "This training can be offered to anyone who is simply interested in learning to identify, understand and respond to mental health and substance abuse disorders.”
