MONROE, Conn. -- The Edith Wheeler Memorial Library is looking for experienced yarn crafters to create chemo caps, comfort shawls and other needed items for those in treatment at St. Vincent's Medical Center.
The library will host a gathering for the yarn crafters, “Knit & Crochet for a Cause,” on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m.
Participants can bring their knitting needles, crochet hooks and yarn, and the library will provide a selection of patterns.
There are no set requirements, but St. Vincent's has requested items in colors and patterns suitable for men.
Once the projects are completed, the library staff will mail them to the medical center.
Provided there is enough interest, the craft event will be turned into a monthly club.
To register, call 203-452-2850, or click here.
The library is located at 733 Monroe Turnpike.
