Held as usual on Mother’s Day weekend — May 12 to 14 this year — on the grounds of Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, the festival benefits 23 local and global charities, including the International Institute of Connecticut, Operation Hope, The Center for Family Justice and the International Justice Mission.
“As a Pastor, I am most proud of the spirit that is shown from beginning to end that so perfectly expresses the spirit of our church and of God’s love,” said Rev. Dr. David Rowe of the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church. “The whole Dogwood Festival brings so much energy and joy into our church life, doing good, having a lot of fun and welcoming the whole community.”
Timed to coincide with the blossoming of the many dogwood trees in the picturesque neighborhood, the festival features an art show and juried craft show, a plant and garden boutique, live music from School of Rock, 75 vendors and more.
Renee Marsh of A Simpler Place will deliver “Everything I Learned About Gardening From A Tomato” during a Friday luncheon.
