One year later, she quit her job when her "side gig" became a full-time job.
Rustic Wedding Chic (RWC) is now one of the nation's top wedding blogs. Not to mention a brand force to be reckoned with.
Aside from the website, which generates more than a million hits per month, Lord, a Fairfield mom of three, has written five books and become a sought after wedding and lifestyle expert.
And the company is growing. RWC recently launched a new stationery line (think greeting cards, planners, and note cards) and will be showcasing a line of fine glassware later this year.
"RWC is a full wedding planning tool with a dedicated site, RusticWeddingGuide.com that connects wedding vendors with couples and inspired readers on RusticWeddingChic.com with a full array of content ranging from real weddings to DIY projects to style and fashion," said Lord. It's what helps set the site apart from others.
She said the company is always growing and working to inspire brides and couples and help them plan a one-of-a-kind wedding. Going forward, she said she'd love to team up with a dress designer to create a Rustic Wedding Chic line of bridesmaids dresses and wedding gowns.
