MONROE, Conn. -- "Grow Your Own Victory Garden," a Monroe Reads Together event, will be hosted by the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library on Tuesday, March 8.
During the First and Second Wold Wars, when resources of all sorts were scarce, citizens were encouraged to grow at least some of their own food in what came to be known as victory gardens. This program is presented by master gardener Donna Katsuranis, who will discuss the victory gardens of the past and how people can bring the fundamentals of this idea into their modern lives.
You do not have to read the book to attend, but registration is required. Call the library or click here register.
