Alix Edmondson Martinez was diagnosed Jan. 23 with a tumor the size of a lemon.

"Being a non-smoker and a healthy eater, it was a shock of a lifetime," she said.

Martinez' husband Paul has to commute into Manhattan four hours a day and their children, ages, 11, 9 and 6 need babysitters so Alix can go to her treatments at Yale Smilow clinic (Smilow Cancer Hospital), she said.

We will squish the lemon so I can get back to being a strong mommy and wife and get back to my passion as a photographer" Alix said.
