Trumbull Cancels Parade, But Memorial Ceremonies Will Be Held

TRUMBULL, Conn. — Due to the weather forecast for Monday, the 2017 Memorial Day Parade is canceled, the town of Trumbull announced.

But town residents can still mark the solemn holiday. The Vietnam Veterans Ceremony set for 7:30 a.m. and the Memorial Ceremony set for 8:30 a.m. will be held as planned.

"Although the Memorial Day parade has been canceled, that does not stop us from remembering and honoring those who have died in defense of our great nation," the Long Hill Fire Department said. "Today we recognize the tremendous sacrifice made, not only by those who paid the ultimate price but their families who's lives were forever changed when they lost their loved ones."

This is the second year in a row that the town's parade is a washout due to rain.
