"After checking with our storm people and then seeing on the Weather Channel that Monroe has an 80 percent chance of rain along with high winds, I will be canceling our Harvest Festival for this year," the town noted in a Facebook post.

The festivities will be rescheduled to Sunday, June 4, making it a "a true 'Monroe Day," since they will dovetail with the 25th Annual Sprint for Monroe. Additionally, other events will be scheduled, to support the Wolfe Park Culture Amphitheatre Project.

"Thank you for your understanding," town officials added.
