First Responders Hockey Tourney In Bridgeport Benefits Local Charities

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- First responders from around Connecticut will compete in a hockey tournament at Harbor Yard Arena in Bridgeport this weekend to benefit local charities.

The third annual First Responders Hockey Tournament in Bridgeport will benefit the Human Services Council's Children's Connection, the Kevin L. Bell Memorial Fund and Heroes for Hope.

The third annual First Responders Hockey Tournament will be April 17-19, with the proceeds going toward the Norwalk-based Human Services Council's Children's Connection, the Kevin L. Bell Memorial Fund and Hope for Heroes. There will be 10 teams of police, firefighters and EMS competing for ultimate bragging rights and to raise funds for these worthy organizations.

The action begins at noon Friday and continues through the weekend, leading up to the championship game at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. For the cost of $20 per person, you can enjoy one or all of the games in the three-day tournament.

The $20 ticket also gets you into the Bridgeport Sound Tigers' final game of the season against the Hartford Wolfpack at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Sound Tigers will host a fan appreciation day Sunday as well, with special giveaways, discounts on merchandise and a post-game autograph session.
